Structures Engineer Intern Summer 2027

What You Will Do

As a Structures Engineer Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will support the engineering team across the full product life cycle, from detailed design through development, validation, certification, manufacturing and in-service operation.

• Provide analytical support for detailed design, from development through validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service.
• Apply FE and classical methods to assess strength, stress and deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematics and optimization.
• Support validation testing (engine and rig) and data reduction.
• Support in-service field investigations.
• Work in multi-discipline teams to design solutions that balance customer needs for durability, performance, cost and weight.
• Coordinate with others to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes and methods.
• Document and present results to management and external customers.
• Travel requirements: about 10%.
