About the Role

Are you ready to explore aerospace and defense? RTX offers internships, co-ops and full-time careers that help you work on complex problems, build your skills and help create a safer, more connected world.

What You Will Do

The Factory Enablement Intern will support Advanced Operations Engineering in developing and deploying digital tools that help modernize aerospace manufacturing. This role suits a student who enjoys new technologies, problem solving, and learning how digital systems connect with factory operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers and technologists to research emerging technologies, assist with pilot projects, and improve digital capabilities at our manufacturing sites. This co-op offers hands-on experience with advanced tools used in "Smart Factory" environments.

What You Will Learn

  • Technology Exploration and Support: Assist in researching technologies such as AI, IoT devices, and factory software systems (e.g., CMMS, RTLS). Help evaluate whether these tools can improve safety, quality, or productivity.
  • Pilot Project Assistance: Work as an active member of a digital team to prototype and deploy solutions. Support proof-of-concept projects by gathering data, documenting results, configuring digital tools, and preparing materials for scaling successful pilots.
  • Systems Thinking: Learn how people, processes, and digital systems connect on the factory floor. Identify basic workflow or data challenges and propose practical enhancements.
  • Digital Tool Deployment: Create simple, standardized documentation or templates that make new technologies easier to deploy across multiple sites.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with DT/IT, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, and shop-floor technicians to understand their needs and translate them into digital requirements.
  • Technical Communication: Prepare clear summaries, diagrams, or presentations that explain digital concepts or project results to non-technical audiences.
  • Operational Support: Assist with troubleshooting digital tools or connectivity issues under the guidance of site engineers or technologists.
