The Presales Systems Engineering Team supports state and local government public safety projects across the Southeast Region. Based in the Brentwood, TN office, the team handles the technical design, planning and implementation of mission-critical infrastructure and subscriber solutions.

Job Description

The Presales Systems Engineer intern will work closely with Communication Systems Engineers who design radio communication solutions from concept through implementation. The role involves consulting with customers to understand their requirements and designing solutions that meet them. Senior engineers support colleagues in building individual and group skills, including mentoring junior systems engineers. Engineers are expected to act professionally and take ownership of their professional and technical development.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, product development and project management to build technical strategies and prepare proposals that present Motorola's solutions to customers.
• Coordinate the design and planning of customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support through the pre-sales phase.
• Take part in coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal generation and customer presentations.
• Help implement solutions as originally designed.
• Take responsibility for all technical aspects of an assigned project from award through system acceptance.
• Support implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers informed about the latest Motorola Solutions technology and how it applies to customer needs.

Location and Travel

• Preferred candidates will live in Brentwood, TN or Alpharetta, GA.
• Schedule: on site 5 days a week.
• Travel: under 10%.
