The West Projects Pre-Sales Engineering Team is the technical core of the Sales Organization. Our engineers bring to life communications solutions that make a difference in the moments that matter, such as helping firefighters see inside buildings and police officers see around street corners.

Job Description

The Presales System Engineer (Internship) will work closely with Communication Systems Engineers, who design radio communication solutions from conceptual phases through implementation. You will help consult with customers to understand their requirements and design the best solution for their needs. Senior engineers support colleagues in building individual and group competencies, including mentoring junior system engineers. Engineers are expected to act as professionals and take responsibility for their development, including the professional and technical skills needed to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, product development and project management to develop technical strategies and generate proposals that present Motorola's solutions to customers.
• Coordinate the design and planning of customer solutions using advanced technologies, and provide technical support throughout the pre-sales phase.
• Contribute to coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal generation and presentations to customers.
• Support the implementation of these solutions as originally designed.
• Take responsibility for all technical aspects of assigned projects from award through system acceptance.
• Support implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers up to date on the latest Motorola Solutions technology and how it meets customer needs.
