Job Description

Parsons is looking for a talented Civil Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2025. Working under the direction of a degreed engineer, you will handle basic to moderately difficult engineering support assignments that call for a working knowledge of design and drafting standards, practices, and techniques. You will take engineering notes, specifications and rough sketches and turn them into working drawings. The work is designed to build practical knowledge of equipment, facilities, and systems and how they relate within a civil engineering discipline.

Specific Responsibilities

• Use a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings, such as basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies and isometrics, from rough sketches or general engineering and design information, following established standards and procedures.
• Use technical manuals and directives to confirm compliance with codes and company policies, and become familiar with standards and codes such as ANSI, PFI, and ASME.
• Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations needed for drawing preparation.
• Carry out other responsibilities that may be appropriate for this position.
