Northrop Grumman is seeking Mission Assurance and Quality Assurance engineering interns for this role at the Defense Systems Sector in Roy, UT. The intern will join the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division (SDSD).

Responsibilities

The intern will check design packages for correct content and compliance with company, customer and industry modeling standards. Other typical duties include:

• Analyzing and validating electromechanical hardware models, systems and related documents, such as GD&T, materials, form/fit/function, manufacturability, feasibility and economy of fabrication.
• Supporting systems engineering architecture work and maintaining system models, interfaces and physical and functional block diagrams with integrated product teams.
• Recommending changes to product definition packages for approval during multiphase reviews as a Mission Assurance or Design Assurance representative.
• Helping maintain a Quality Management System so products and services meet company standards (e.g., AS9100, Statement of Work).
• Reviewing practices, procedures and processes to standardize and improve efficiency and reduce risk to product quality.
• Taking part in engineering boards as a Mission Assurance or Design Assurance representative.
• Preparing and presenting reports, briefings and metrics with insights and recommendations for internal and external customers.
• Reviewing subcontractor design work and recommending approval actions.
• Performing other Mission Assurance tasks, such as program improvement efforts, collaborations and planning.
