Stress Analysis Intern

Northrop Grumman is seeking Stress Analysis and Tooling Design Engineers for an internship. This position is located at the Space sector in Commerce, CA and joins the Mission Enabling Products Business Unit.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design propulsion tanks and associated tooling to support the manufacturing floor
• Coordinate tooling requirements with Manufacturing Engineering
• Participate in and help lead Design and Analysis group continuous improvement and training efforts
• Organize and archive Design and Analysis group technical data and documentation
• Build finite element models and perform trade studies and analyses to support program schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
• Experience with Matlab
• Proven leadership ability from past experiences
• Experience and success working within teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven ability to multi-task and work independently as a self-starter

Intern Pay Range: Bachelor's: $21.50 to $39.00 per hour. Master's: $30.50 to $48.00 per hour. Pay is standardized based on expected graduation date, local labor cost and whether the internship is technical or administrative.

Travel: up to 10% of the time. No relocation assistance and no clearance required to start. The application period is estimated at 20 days from the posting date and may change based on business needs.
