Northrop Grumman is seeking Materials and Process Engineering interns for a position at its Space sector in San Diego, CA. The intern will join the Materials and Process Engineering Program and Operations support group in the Structures Division of the Mission Enabling Products business unit.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Take part in process development for ceramic and organic matrix composite activities
• Program and code to support automated equipment and robotics implementation
• Oversee material testing in R&D to evaluate material properties and performance
• Summarize data and make recommendations based on statistical analysis
• Write technical documentation summarizing testing activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
• Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices
• Proven leadership ability from past experiences
• Experience and success working within teams
• Ability to multi-task and work independently as a self-starter
• Technical attention to detail on past projects and assignments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Intern pay is standardized based on anticipated graduation date, the cost of labor in the geographic location, and whether the internship is technical or administrative.
