Northrop Grumman is seeking H/W Mechanical Engineering Interns for this position, located at the Mission Systems sector in Annapolis, MD.

The intern will join the Naval & Oceanic Systems business unit, headquartered in Annapolis, MD, which is seeking H/W Mechanical Engineers. The site supports the development, test, and sustainment of advanced subsea systems. Work may include uncrewed undersea vehicles (UUVs), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), undersea payloads, acoustic and non-acoustic sensors, sensor processing, navigation, platform integration, subsea and maritime-surface communication technologies, advanced algorithms, digital engineering, and more.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Concept development, problem solving, technical planning, design development, analysis, and integration and testing of undersea hardware.
• Collaborating and prioritizing tasks in a dynamic team environment, analyzing complex problems, and developing engineering solutions that meet project requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: hardware design, design for manufacturing practices, development of engineering processes, procedures, and deliverable documentation, or applying engineering principles to small to medium production quantities.
• Experience in the undersea domain is preferred, including UUVs, ROVs, acoustic communications, sonar systems, and undersea systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
