Marsh Summer Intern 2027 - Risk Consulting in Houston

Join Marsh's Early Career Program as a Summer Intern. This is a 10-week experience that gives you the risk consulting toolkit to advance your career at Marsh. Under close supervision, you will work alongside experienced consultants and see how technical analysis and engineering principles are applied to real client challenges.

The program includes a cohort community, a dedicated program team, learning and development opportunities, a mentorship program, exposure to senior leaders, and networking. The internship ends with a summer capstone presentation to your team and senior leadership. Exceptional juniors may be offered the chance to join the full-time program at Marsh.

Risk Consulting combines engineering expertise, research, data, and analytics to help clients understand and manage complex risks. Consultants evaluate physical and operational exposures and build practical strategies to protect people, property, and business operations.

Available Teams

Candidates select their preferred practice area(s) for consideration. Office availability varies by team, and candidates are aligned with a team during review.

• Specialty Risk Engineering (SRE): focuses on property and natural catastrophe risk through engineering analysis, loss estimates, and risk improvement strategies.
• Property Risk Consulting (PRC): uses engineering and technical expertise to help clients identify, assess, and reduce risks to physical assets and operations.

Property Risk Consulting (PRC), Chicago

You will research engineering codes and standards such as NFPA and FM Global, take part in client site surveys, analyze technical information to support mitigation recommendations, and present findings to colleagues. This track is best suited to students in Fire Protection and Safety, Energy, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or related technical fields.

Specialty Risk Engineering (SRE), Chicago, Dallas or Houston

You will support client projects through research, analyze property and natural catastrophe risk data, join site visits and engineering assessments, and work with Marsh colleagues on reports, loss estimates, and client insights. This track is best suited to students in Geospatial, Energy, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering, though students from other engineering disciplines are also encouraged to apply.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Interest in property protection, resilience, natural catastrophe risk, or applying engineering concepts in a consulting setting.
• Some experience with Excel or other data tools from coursework or projects.
• Ability to present technical or analytical information clearly.
