Marsh Risk Early Career Program, Summer Intern 2027 – Claims Advocacy, Chicago

Marsh is seeking talented people for its Early Career Program Summer Internship, part of the Risk business and within the Claims Advocacy team. The role is based in Chicago with an anticipated start in June 2027. It is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office.

Summer Interns complete a 10-week experience working directly with experts across claims advocacy disciplines, including workers' compensation, auto liability, general liability and products liability, environmental, product recall, and property claims. Program benefits include a cohort community, a dedicated program team, learning and development opportunities, a mentorship program, exposure to senior leaders, and networking. The internship ends with a summer capstone presentation to the team and senior leadership.

The Team

The Marsh Claims Advocacy Practice is a global team of experienced professionals guided by three principles. Its vision is to deliver claims excellence through an extensive global network to produce integrated solutions for clients. Its approach is to tailor these solutions to client needs and deliver them locally for a personal service. Its objective is to add real value to clients, particularly at times of greatest need.

High-performing graduating students may be considered for a full-time opportunity after the internship.

What You Will Do

• Support the team with reporting, tracking, and documentation of client claims, keeping information accurate and organized through the claims process.
• Assist with formal claim reviews by gathering and analyzing information, preparing supporting materials, and helping the team identify trends and insights that support clients and their risk.
• Collaborate with colleagues on client needs, including preparing materials and coordinating information and follow-up with clients and other stakeholders.
• Assist with research, data analysis, presentations, and other projects that help the team evaluate claim activity.

What You Need to Have

• Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Marketing, Analytics, or a related major
• Interest in claims, insurance, risk management, or how organizations respond to and manage risk
• Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple responsibilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating with teammates
• Legal work authorization in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without sponsorship now or in the future. You must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) at the time of application.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this role is $26/hr in Chicago. Pay is standardized per location and not subject to negotiation.
