Software Engineer Intern

Role Overview

This role plans, conducts, and coordinates software development work. You will design, develop, document, test, and debug software that applies logical and mathematical solutions to business and mission problems, written in computer language for processing on data processing equipment. You will apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools across the development life cycle.

You will use knowledge of computer hardware and software, the subject matter being programmed, information processing techniques, and input gathered from system users. You will correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile development documentation, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output, input data, programming techniques, and controls. You will also make sure software standards are met.

Assignments may be performed in technical and engineering organizations (such as Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering) during vacations and short breaks from college while enrolled in an accredited degree program.

Desired Skills

• Experience with modern software architecture and technologies, including cloud native, microservices, web development stacks, and API development.
• Experience with cloud computing technologies (AWS or Azure).
