Software Engineer Intern

As an engineer on an Agile Scrum Team, you will rapidly develop and deploy solutions for a complex space system using core engineering principles, delivering fully functioning mission capability securely and continuously.

Focus Areas

• Generating and simulating operational level plans for future space defense scenarios
• Dynamically optimizing terrestrial and space-based sensors for space domain awareness
• Strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of satellite constellations to meet evolving priorities

Responsibilities

Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities. Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that solves business and mission problems. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools across the development life cycle. Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile development documentation, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output, input data, programming techniques, and controls. Ensure software standards are met.

• SpringBoot or Quarkus for backend Java development
• LIT for JavaScript front-end
• Node.js/Express for hosting UIs
• Python
• Helm charts for IaC

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Strong time management skills for on-time project delivery
• Familiarity with the Space Domain
• Proficiency in AI prompting as it applies to this position
