The Lockheed Martin Rotary and Systems Mission team in Mount Laurel, New Jersey is looking for a Systems Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. Interns work in technical and engineering organizations (such as Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering) during vacations and short breaks from college while enrolled in an accredited degree program.

You will design, integrate and test systems, and analyze data to assess the performance of Command, Control and Communications (C3) systems. These systems perform critical functions such as radar and sensor management, track filtering and management, control of communication links, threat evaluation and prioritization, and command of weapon systems for target engagement or assignment.

The ideal candidate has experience or knowledge of systems engineering principles, algorithm development, and data analysis for troubleshooting and evaluation. Applicants must be US citizens and will need a government security clearance. The position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree in Engineering or a related STEM field
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Team-based experience
• Able to work independently and handle confidential information appropriately

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated analytical, applied mathematics and problem-solving skills
• Active security clearance
• Previous experience working in the defense industry
• Previous experience with JIRA and/or Confluence
