The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA's product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies such as AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Its inspection, metrology and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. The unit also develops technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics.
The Broadband Plasma (BBP) division makes a market-leading optical inspection system used by logic, foundry and memory customers to detect critical defects at advanced nodes. These tools pair broadband plasma technology with high sensitivity and speed to support high-volume manufacturing.
In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.
You will support research and development of advanced detector characterization methods for next generation semiconductor inspection technologies. Opportunities include experimental testing of optical detectors, developing and running measurement workflows, data acquisition and analysis, and improving characterization methods and test efficiency. The intern will evaluate key detector performance parameters, including photon transfer characteristics, quantum efficiency and quantum yield in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectral region.
KLA provides advanced inspection tools, metrology systems, process solutions and computational analytics that make electronics possible. The company works across electron and photon optics, machine learning and data analytics, seeking perfection at the most fundamental level of matter.
Interns are eligible for some of the benefits listed, including medical, dental, vision, life and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) with company matching, an employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement, career growth programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off, paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave. Performance incentive programs may also apply.
Pay ranges are determined by role, level and location. Actual pay depends on factors such as state minimum wage rates, location, job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the pay range for your preferred location during hiring.
