The team is searching for talent for the TDS Proteins API DSP HTPD Co-Op in Malvern, PA or Spring House, PA.

- The co-op term is typically six months, from January to June 2027 (flexible).
- Full-time requirement (40 hours per week), fully on-site.
Purpose
The TDS Proteins Development API organization is seeking a motivated Co-Op to support high-throughput process development (HTPD), protein purification, bioconjugation process development, chromatography optimization, automation, and digital innovation initiatives for biologics and protein therapeutics.
This role offers hands-on experience in laboratory research, process development, high-throughput screening, data analysis, and workflow optimization. You will work with scientists and engineers across process development, manufacturing, analytical, automation, and digital teams to build scalable platforms and data-driven solutions for multiple biologics programs.
Responsibilities
- Support high-throughput process development, protein purification, chromatography, filtration, and bioconjugation activities.
- Design, run, and document laboratory experiments to evaluate process performance, operating conditions, and scalability.
- Perform chromatography, resin screening, protein characterization, conjugation, and purification studies on lab and automated platforms.
- Support scale-down models, high-throughput screening workflows, and automation technologies.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data using statistical and quantitative methods to produce actionable recommendations.
- Take part in experimental design discussions and help solve technical challenges.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners across scientific, engineering, manufacturing, and digital groups.
- Develop workflows, tools, best practices, and platform strategies that improve efficiency, consistency, and knowledge management.
- Support digital initiatives involving data analysis, visualization, programming, process automation, and data-driven decisions.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, technical documentation, and project records per established guidelines.
- Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
Process Development & Laboratory
- Laboratory, research, biologics process development, or manufacturing experience.
- Experience with experimental design, execution, and scientific data interpretation.
- Prior work with protein purification, protein characterization, and basic protein biochemistry.
- Experience with multichannel pipetting and small-volume samples.
Chromatography & Purification
- Chromatography experience, including HPLC, FPLC, column chromatography, resin screening, and chromatography process development.
- Knowledge of downstream bioprocessing and scale-down model development or validation.
- Experience with Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF).
- Knowledge of Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC), ion-exchange, mixed-mode resins, and chromatographic performance metrics.
High-Throughput & Automation
- Experience with plate-based assays, HTPD, and high-throughput screening workflows.
- Experience with laboratory automation platforms such as Tecan systems.
Conjugation & Biotherapeutics
- Experience with bioconjugation, antibody conjugates, ADC-related lab techniques, or purification workflows.
Digital & Data Skills
- Experience with data analysis, visualization, modeling, application development, or programming tools.
- Basic programming knowledge and data aggregation experience is a plus, but not required.
- Statistics and data-driven decision-making experience preferred.
