Position Summary

Johnson Controls is looking for enthusiastic first-year law students for a 10-week paid summer 2027 internship with its in-house legal team. The program offers meaningful, hands-on experience and a chance to see how lawyers support a complex global business.

Interns will gain exposure to a range of corporate legal matters, including contracts, litigation, labor and employment, intellectual property, data privacy, compliance, investigations, and mergers and acquisitions. Working alongside the collaborative legal team, interns will contribute to substantive projects and build a practical understanding of in-house legal practice.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Legal Department, you will work closely with the in-house legal team, business professionals across the enterprise, and outside counsel. Responsibilities may include:

• Conducting substantive legal research and analysis
• Drafting legal memoranda and other written work product
• Reviewing contracts and other documents
• Identifying and analyzing legal, compliance, and business risks
• Supporting legal projects and matters across a variety of practice areas
