At IBM Infrastructure & Technology, teams design and operate the systems that keep the world running, from high-resiliency mainframes and hybrid cloud platforms to networking, automation, and site reliability. Teams focus on the performance, security, and scalability that clients and industries rely on every day.
Technical content is the backbone of the client digital self-service experience and is essential for client retention and growth. In this role, you will design, develop, and publish technical product content, such as UI text, messages, product and API documentation, and multimedia, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and quality information. You will work closely with the Design community to build user-centric experiences.
The IBM Apprenticeship Program lasts approximately 12 months and is an official registered apprenticeship recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL). Graduates receive a nationally recognized credential from the DOL. During the apprenticeship, you will complete specific learning hours and on-the-job training, and you can learn at your own pace, though most apprentices finish within 12 months. After you receive your certificate, you will be eligible to apply to available full-time roles at IBM.
You will join other apprentices in a local cohort, start with a few weeks of onboarding, then progress through a personal skills roadmap with your managers and mentors. You will earn digital credentials for milestones and return with other apprentices for ongoing professional and technical training.
You will work alongside experienced Technical Content Professionals and mentors, learning content development, content architecture, publication testing, agile principles, IBM Design Thinking, DevOps, and continuous delivery. You will also contribute ideas, take on responsibilities, and make decisions about how you get the work done.
Exposure to content creation tools, such as help authoring tools, content management systems, and version control systems, is a plus. Basic understanding of visual content creation, including graphics, images, and multimedia, and curiosity about organizing content for easy navigation are also welcome.
