Enterprise Operations Software Internship

The Team

HP's Supply Chain Organization is at the heart of one of the world's most sustainable and just technology companies.

As a Supply Chain Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in various supply chain aspects while applying the SCOR model to optimize processes. Internships are available for students in Engineering and Business programs, with assignments in Sourcing, Logistics, Planning, Materials/Inventory Management, Manufacturing Operations, Sustainability, Digital Transformation, Returns, and Order Fulfillment.

Intern Responsibilities/Project Examples

• Assist in analyzing and mapping current supply chain processes using the SCOR model framework.
• Identify improvement areas and propose recommendations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction in Sourcing and Logistics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data for process optimization.
• Support implementation of supply chain improvement initiatives like inventory management, demand planning, and order fulfillment.
• Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain management.
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting to measure KPIs.
• Review and analyze new supply chain concepts (e.g., JIS) for adoption.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
• Conduct sourcing market research for innovative products or categories.
• Design sustainability initiatives with other business functions.
• Identify and implement innovative quality control processes for suppliers.
• Conduct market research for new technologies to optimize supply chain.
• Apply analytics to develop data-driven solutions and financial/operational models.

Software Specialization Areas

Depending on the team, interns may work in one of these areas:

• Software Developer: Java, Python, C++, React JS, Node JS, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, Splunk observability tools (RUM, APM, Log Observer).
• Backend Systems: Python, C/C++/Linux Development, GIT, basic circuit design, cryptography, Test-Driven Design, unit test frameworks.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Go language, AWS services (EKS, EB, EC2, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, CloudFormation), Linux, bash scripts, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka, networking, DNS, firewall, Splunk, Prometheus, Cloudwatch, Kibana, Grafana.
• Data Privacy: Intermediate Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), knowledge of data privacy standards.
• Data Science and Analytics: Python, Splunk, SQL, data structures, data analysis, automation and AI, Jira, Power BI, Excel, forecasting, modeling, software development.
• Firmware Developer: Firmware/software development, C++, GHE, GitHub, debugging, quality testing, SDLC.
• Cyber Security: Python, JavaScript, SQL, encryption algorithms, authentication protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, attack vectors, Linux/Windows, networking (TCP/IP).
• Mobile Applications Developer: Apple/Android languages such as Swift, Objective C, Kotlin, Java.
• System Validation Engineer: SQA, understanding of code architecture (C, Python, Java), Agile (Lean, Scrum, DevOps), project management, data analysis, computer architecture, Office365.
• Systems Integration and Design: Ruby-on-Rails, Java, Angular, AWS, Go, Test-Driven Development, printing system architectures, embedded systems, client/server infrastructure, networking, Windows, MAC, Linux.
• UX Design: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite.

Education and Experience Required

• 3rd year of Bachelor's completed or 1st year of Master's completed, typically in a technical degree.
• No more than 24 months of prior professional work experience related to the intern role (excluding internships, teaching assistance, research, or military).
• Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited university.
• Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2027 and not require sponsorship in the future.
