About this role

Carrier is looking for a motivated, results-oriented college student to join the Residential Gas Furnace Development Team for the summer of 2027. The internship offers practical, challenging and meaningful on-the-job experience, along with the chance to apply knowledge and show strengths in support of Carrier's business strategy.

Interns apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, tools and methodologies. They ensure designs meet specifications, requirements and best practices for product operation and reliability, and they help capture and protect novel ideas through IP processes and tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to product design improvements, focusing on complex components within new product development projects.
• Lead and/or support initiatives related to combustion safety and airflow optimization.
• Enhance test fixtures and methods used for performance validation.
• Develop and document test procedures for evaluating new designs.
• Work independently with guidance from senior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of combustion or HVAC products and principles.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-driven and proactive.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Team player who collaborates well on projects.

Other Compensation

This position may be eligible for short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements. This position is not eligible for Carrier benefits.
