About this Role

Carrier designs, develops, and manufactures control and control panel solutions for the HVAC, refrigeration, and other OEM markets worldwide. The Intern Engineer will be based in Fort Wayne, IN and work on the Control Box engineering design team, which develops electrical control panels and enclosures from concept through production. The work includes analyzing component selections and layouts to build a robust, cost competitive panel design.

Responsibilities

• Project tracking assistance
• Preparing shipments (customer samples, components, etc.)
• Technical assistance in the lab, including hands-on building of control box samples
• Assisting Control Box project engineers with customer projects
• Engineering tasks such as specification and drawing generation
• Helping others with miscellaneous tasks as time permits

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Coursework in circuit analysis, electronics, embedded systems, controls, or power systems
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power supplies
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB design tools, or CAD software
• Basic programming experience in C, C++, Python, or similar languages
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, communication interfaces, or control systems
• Interest in HVAC systems, building automation, connected products, or embedded electronics

Compensation

This position may be eligible for short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements. It is not eligible for Carrier benefits.
