Position Overview

We are looking for a driven, proactive, and detail-oriented Warranty & Repair Co-Op to join our Service Operations team. In this hands-on role, you will connect enterprise systems with shop floor execution. You will support continuous improvement projects in SAP system modeling, technical training frameworks, digital quality systems (SOCOS), and lean 5S shop floor layout redesign.

The position offers broad exposure to engineering principles, ERP workflows, operational excellence, and Quality Systems compliance.

Key Responsibilities and Potential Projects

1. SAP Operations and Quoting Optimization

• Time Reclassification: Audit and update labor activity types to keep cost allocation and booking accurate.
• Planned vs. Actual Alignment: Run time studies and historical variance analyses across four repair stages (Inspection, Repair, Testing, and Final Inspection), then calibrate SAP master routings to real performance.
• Quoting Procedure Development: Improve the current repair quotation process and build more streamlined quoting tools and practices.

2. Technical Training and Skills Architecture

• Skills Categorization: Inventory technician competencies, mapping hands-on capabilities to specific material groups and diagnostic equipment.
• Competency Matrix Expansion: Develop modular training plans and grow the operational skill matrix using online modules, Fit for Service curricula, and in-house workshops.
• Standardized Inspection Documentation: Turn tacit diagnostic knowledge into clear, structured, visually guided inspection reference guides.

3. File Architecture and Warranty Governance

• Shared File Folder Restructuring: Review and restructure the legacy network file repository so files are easier to find and save.
• Document Lifecycle Management: Identify, log, and safely archive obsolete documents, spreadsheets, and superseded working aids.
• Warranty Document Review: Audit existing Warranty Agreements and keep only active, validated, current legal revisions.

4. Work Instructions and SOCOS Documentation

• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Review existing Service Work Instructions (WIs) across all technical repair workstations.
• Document Harmonization: Update or archive legacy Work Instructions.
• Regulatory and System Release: Route revised documentation through formal review and release workflows in SOCOS, ensuring full compliance.

5. Shop Floor Lean Layout and 5S Implementation

• Layout and Flow Optimization: Map the service area using value stream mapping and spaghetti diagrams to reduce material handling waste and technician travel time.
• Point-of-Use Storage: Set up kanban inventory quantities and ordering processes for hardware and consumables (cover plates, bolts, protective caps, overstock).
• 5S Staging Lane Execution: Standardize floor markings, visual controls, and operating rules across staging lanes such as Incoming, Return to Stock, Return to Customer, Quality Holds, and Internal service order (YINT) Inspection.
• Office and Cabinet Realignment: Lead 5S sorting and purging of physical material cabinets, securely archive critical records, and dispose of redundant or obsolete documents.
