Bosch Hiring Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op

Job Description

This co-op opportunity is for engineering students to support output and quality improvements, assist production lines, and identify technical solutions for capacity and demand gaps. Below are some general details about Bosch North America (RBNA), the Bosch-Charleston Automotive plant, and examples of typical assignments for students:

• Identify and coordinate problem solving or troubleshooting activities for equipment or process issues
• Communicate project status through operational and departmental management
• Develop software tools to improve data transparency
• Plan production trials, focusing on equipment and process quality and technical documentation
• Assist with training and documentation for hourly and salaried associates
• Troubleshoot production problems and their root causes
• Update machine drawings to improve equipment robustness or stability
• Help develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans per company standards: Work Instructions, Control Plans, PFMEA, gage logs, etc.
• Use SolidWorks to improve design of machining fixtures, gages, robot grippers, and WPC
• Help develop workplace layouts and material flow

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred)
• Strong interest in special machinery, industrial automation, or manufacturing systems, particularly in the automotive industry
• Familiarity with engineering principles, concept development, and system-level thinking
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Power BI)
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Experience with CNC machines
• Experience with machining of aluminum
• Experience with fixture design, gage design, carbide and PCD tooling
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to teach and work with workshop personnel
• Self-starting, results oriented, flexible, team player
• Demonstrate discipline and consistency in adhering to established standards
