Not sure which area of banking is right for you yet?

Ignite gives you the chance to explore several career paths before choosing where you may want to specialize.

The U.S. Banking Ignite Rotational Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience for rising college juniors interested in banking careers. Through rotations across Commercial Banking, Business Banking & Operations, and Wealth Management, you will gain hands-on experience, learn how different teams serve clients, and discover where your skills and interests could lead at BMO.

Throughout the summer, you will take part in shared learning and professional development, contribute to team work, connect with leaders and peers, and build a broader view of how BMO areas work together to support clients.

Ignite is designed to help you build foundational banking knowledge, professional skills, connections, and career clarity that can prepare you for future internship opportunities at BMO.

Explore the Rotations

Commercial Banking: Learn how BMO works with companies to understand their goals and provide banking solutions. See how relationship managers, credit teams, and other partners support clients.

Business Banking & US Banking Operations: See how BMO supports business clients and how teams across U.S. Banking deliver the client and employee experience. Depending on your rotation, you may work on Business Banking strategy, performance, products and sales enablement, or on operational teams focused on process improvement, analytics, risk and controls, transformation and execution.

Wealth Management: Discover how BMO helps clients work toward their financial goals through advice, planning, investments, and other wealth solutions. Learn about the roles that contribute to the overall client relationship.

Across each rotation, you will focus on understanding the business, exploring different roles, and discovering which career paths best fit your interests.

Your Ignite Learning Journey

Understand the Business: Learn who each team serves, the products and solutions they provide, and how they support clients.

Explore the Roles: Meet professionals across client-facing, business, and operational teams and see the variety of roles that contribute to the client experience.

Discover Your Fit: Reflect on what interests you most and make a more informed decision about your next internship or career experience.
