Team Overview

The AGS Supplier Engineering Group works with suppliers to validate their manufacturing capability, making sure they can build parts to Applied drawings and requirements. The team is international and includes engineers from a range of disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with New Product Development (NPI) teams to keep engineering drawing requirements accurate and clear, and make sure expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
• Interact with New Product Introduction teams to involve suppliers in developing and reviewing specifications that support design for manufacturability.
• Use project management skills and quality tools to investigate alternate manufacturing processes that reduce cost or improve quality and reliability.
• Take part in the Supplier Selection Process to build a supply base that offers competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery, and technology.
• Assist with quality problem resolution and incident management.
• Work with special process suppliers on cleaning, plating, anodization, surface treatments, coatings, and similar processes.
• Support quality resolution with suppliers.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Project Management, Engineering, and Quality teams.
