Associate Data Analyst (San Diego)

Sony Electronics Inc.'s Professional Solutions Americas group has an entry-level opening in the Media Solutions group. The Associate Data Analyst will be the main point of producing and analyzing data tied to end-to-end sales and marketing operations.

Responsibilities

This role collects relevant information from internal and external sources to maintain databases, support general analytics and provide routine business reports.

The position broadly analyzes and interprets collected data to support ongoing initiatives and identifies general process improvement opportunities.

The role requires advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and pivot tables, along with administrative Power BI skills such as building data models and dashboards, maintaining workspaces and troubleshooting. The Associate Data Analyst also creates foundational visualizations, including standard dashboards, flowcharts and graphs, to communicate data clearly and help shape key marketing decisions.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably with a concentration in business data analytics.
• Demonstrated analytical and strategy development background.
• Experience with marketing analytics.
• Experience connecting Business Intelligence tools such as MS Power BI and data tools like SQL to data from different sources, then transforming it into actionable reports.
• Experience creating visualization dashboards.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, formulas and macros, plus Access for querying, table creation and formulas. Solid understanding of MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• One year of related experience in a marketing analytics role reporting to a marketing or sales group.
• Experience with SAP / FICO (especially PBP and PRP modules) is a strong plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker is required, as noted above.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $76,375.00 to $101,834.00. The actual salary depends on factors such as the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, education, certifications or licenses, and the location where the applicant lives or will perform the job.

The position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus plan, which is based on company performance and is not guaranteed.
