EWIS Harness Design Engineer I in Seattle, WA

About the Role

Shield AI is building the world's best aircraft, and we are looking for a Harness Design Engineer to help bring that vision to life. In this high-impact role with significant ownership, you will design the complex wire harnesses and cable assemblies that form the nervous system of X-BAT, our next-generation autonomous UAV platform.

Your harness design work will directly support the mission. From concept to deployment, you will help ensure reliability, precision, and performance in the field, where failure is not an option.

What You'll Do

• Design wire harnesses and cable assemblies for X-BAT and supporting ground equipment
• Work with electrical engineering to define connector selection, current and voltage requirements, shielding, and other design aspects
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental analysis to validate harness reliability
• Prototype and test harnesses in dynamic, mission-critical environments
• Collaborate with avionics, systems, supply chain, and manufacturing teams on integration
• Lead technicians in building, testing, and debugging parts of the EWIS system
