This on-site Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op will join the Manufacturing support team at the Collins Aerospace facility in Manchester, Iowa for the Summer/Fall 2027 session.

What You Will Do

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday co-op running June through December, including the Fall semester. Students are expected to take the semester off from coursework to fully take part in this mentorship opportunity.

• Work alongside Industrial Engineers, production-floor operators and manufacturing support staff to resolve product flow, quality, ergonomic and safety issues tied to advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Develop or improve fixture and tooling designs for manufacturing processes, then build, verify and implement them.
• Find root causes of manufacturing defects and process inhibitors, and put effective corrective measures in place.
• Program and operate laser machines, 3D printers and other manufacturing equipment to build fixtures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives from development through implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
• Experience with SolidWorks modeling
• Experience with VBA or other scripting languages
• Experience with 3D modeling or laser cutting
