About the job

RTX is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, with about 185,000 people working on complex problems. Its three market-leading businesses, operations and research investments give it capabilities that few others have.

Raytheon brings more than 100 years of experience and engineering expertise to support the nation and its allies in defending freedom and deterring aggression.

Role Overview

As a Mission Analyst Intern, you will join a team of systems engineers delivering Raytheon products for the warfighter through modeling, simulation, and analysis. Your work will help demonstrate the mission effectiveness of systems and systems-of-systems operating in complex threat environments. You will develop and analyze solutions across mission technologies such as sensors, effectors, communications, command and control.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and implement model-based solutions that support mission trade studies using mission and engagement level simulations.
  • Help develop and integrate variable-fidelity computer models and simulations that capture system and system-of-systems effects in complex threat environments.
  • Model system and mission kill chains using Government, Commercial, and/or Raytheon simulation tools.
  • Run mission system simulations and analyze the results.
  • Develop metrics and results products that show the chain of events leading to an action.
  • Collaborate in a team environment, take input from program or team experts, and develop analytic approaches that generate data to inform programmatic decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship, co-op, or work experience.
  • Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Experience with standard government modeling tools such as AFSIM, Suppressor, Brawler, or similar.
  • Experience in sensors, network communications, weapons/effects, command and control, and/or resource management.
  • Ability to understand tactics described by military experts and represent them verbally, graphically, and in simulations.
  • Experience in military operations analysis, modeling and simulation in the defense industry, and/or data analysis and visualization.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and statistics on large data volumes, numerical optimization, analysis of alternatives, or design of experiments.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
