Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op

The Industrial Engineer Co-op will work at the RTX Collins Avionics facility in Melbourne, FL. This role suits Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering students who want hands-on manufacturing experience. You will join a cross-functional team that applies manufacturing concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to drive and implement changes. Strong written and verbal communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment are important.

What You Will Do

• Take part in a full-time, Monday through Friday co-op session running January through August. Students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully engage in this working mentorship.
• Improve operator productivity by refining manufacturing processes
• Design tooling to support manufacturing processes
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop countermeasures for manufacturing equipment and products
• Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, including 5S, waste reduction, and flow improvements
• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify cost reduction opportunities
• Plan and design layouts for manufacturing processes and equipment

What You Will Learn

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience with CAD software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD
