The Industrial Engineer Co-op works at the RTX Collins Avionics facility in Melbourne, Florida. This role suits Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering students who want hands-on manufacturing experience. You will join a cross-functional team that applies manufacturing concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to drive and implement changes. Strong written and verbal communication, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment are important.

What You Will Do

• Work full-time, Monday through Friday, for a co-op session running June through mid-December. Students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully take part in this mentorship.
• Improve operator productivity by refining manufacturing processes
• Perform root cause analysis and develop countermeasures for manufacturing equipment and products
• Design tooling to support manufacturing processes
• Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, including 5S, waste reduction, and flow improvements
• Analyze manufacturing processes to find cost reduction opportunities
• Plan and design layouts for manufacturing processes and equipment

This role is classified as onsite. Employees in onsite roles work primarily on site, including production and maintenance employees, who are essential to developing our products. Candidates may be asked to attend some interview steps in person at an RTX office.
