The Test Solutions Engineering team, part of the Hardware Discipline Center, drives innovation by developing advanced electrical solutions for our products. Our systems support the full product lifecycle, from high-tech engineering labs to field operations and sustainment.

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will get hands-on experience designing and integrating test systems using the latest industry tools. You will help evolve our products and make sure our systems meet technical and performance goals in a collaborative setting.

This position is located in Tewksbury, Andover or Marlborough, Massachusetts.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, and integrate test products for complex systems within a multidisciplinary team
  • Create test interface adapters, cabling, schematics, and detailed circuit designs
  • Develop engineering and production test systems that align with cost and schedule goals
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during development and implementation
  • Use modern equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power meters, for validation
  • Work independently or as part of a team to resolve test product challenges

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Knowledge of electrical components including resistors, capacitors, and transistors
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with circuit design and analysis for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB for simulation and automation
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet deadlines
  • Experience in technical writing and delivering formal presentations

This position requires an active, transferable U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret), which must be obtainable before the start date. U.S. citizenship is required. Clearances are adjudicated by DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services.

Candidates may be asked to attend select interview steps in person at an RTX office location.
