Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to work at our Space sector in Gilbert, AZ. The intern will join the Integration and Test (I&T) Team.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Support mechanical builds and tests for space vehicle hardware by setting up equipment and assisting senior engineers and technicians.
• Follow and help improve work instructions and test procedures, making sure steps are clear, complete and match requirements.
• Help keep the work area safe, clean and organized, including checking that tools, hardware and documentation are ready each day.
• Monitor and report daily status to I&T engineers and managers, including progress, issues found and next steps.
• Assist in identifying and documenting off-nominal or nonconforming conditions and support basic corrective actions.
• Support testing of space flight hardware by understanding basic system behavior, watching for hazards and reviewing test data with guidance to confirm hardware is operating as expected.
