Structural Dynamics Engineer Intern

This internship is at our Space sector in Redondo Beach, CA, and places you within the Western Region Vehicle and Mechanical Engineering discipline. Interns are supported with training, professional development and networking opportunities.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform structural dynamics design and analysis using numerical solutions and tools such as NASTRAN, FEMAP, VAONE and MATLAB, covering vibration, acoustic and shock environments.
• Establish and review critical dynamic environments for requirements, analysis and verification.
• Complete analyses and set parameters for dynamics testing, monitor tests, process data and correlate predictive models with test results.
• Prepare technical documents and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
• Previous internship or co-op experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and professional, community or extracurricular activities.
• Self-motivation, willingness to learn, and interest in working in a team environment.

Intern pay is standardized based on anticipated graduation date, geographic labor cost, and whether the internship is technical or administrative.

Travel: Yes, about 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available. This position does not require a clearance to start, but candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and Program Special access, and U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.
