The NYC Engineering Team mainly supports State and Local Government Public Safety infrastructure and subscriber design and implementation for New York City projects. The office is in downtown Brooklyn, close to major subway hubs.

Job Description

As a Presales Systems Engineer intern, you will work closely with Communication Systems Engineers, who design radio communication solutions from concept through implementation to meet customer requirements. Engineers consult with customers to understand their needs and design the best solution for them. Senior Engineers support colleagues by building individual and group skills, including mentoring junior systems engineers. Engineers are expected to act as professionals and take ownership of their development, both technical and professional.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, product development and project management to build technical strategies and prepare proposals that present Motorola's solutions to customers.
• Help design and plan customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support throughout the pre-sales phase.
• Take part in coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal writing and presenting solutions to customers.
• Help implement solutions as originally designed.
• Take responsibility for the technical aspects of assigned projects from award through system acceptance.
• Support implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers informed about Motorola Solutions' latest technology offerings and how they fit customer needs.
