Data Center Technician Intern - Dulles, VA

Microsoft is committed to an inclusive workplace where every employee can positively shape our culture. We are looking for a Datacenter Technician (DCT) Intern to join Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I), the team that powers our cloud services.

As a CO+I DCT Intern, you will help deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies behind Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. CO+I also supports personal and professional growth through career rotation programs, diversity and inclusion training and events, and professional certifications.

Our infrastructure includes a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers, supported by subject matter experts who serve more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries. Responsibilities

• Support deployment of on-site datacenter physical infrastructure.
• Install, replace, and troubleshoot cables and hardware.
• Handle data-bearing devices such as hard drives and solid state drives.
• Work within a ticket-based environment.
• Move equipment using pallet jacks or other assisted lifting equipment.
• As required, assist the Datacenter Inventory and Asset Management Team (DIAT) with shipping, receiving, and inventory management during high work volumes.
