Overview

Join the Bank's Technology Development Program (TDP), a 2-year initiative designed to build in-depth technical skills within a specific discipline, followed by rotations across multiple Technology departments to gain a broader understanding of all technical areas and continue growing in your chosen field.

Scope of Responsibilities

This rotational training program is for Bachelor degree holders in a technical discipline. It offers flexibility to shape your career and expand your objectives, combining career planning, technical and competency-based training, mentorship, and challenging assessments to accelerate your career with the Bank.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced technology staff to develop deep technical skills in areas such as Software Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, Data Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
• Complete a series of rotations across multiple technical disciplines to understand how they are used at the Bank and how they collaborate to deliver solutions for internal and external customers.
• Determine your post-program assignment in a core area through career path design, performance, assessment, and interest.
• Adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls, and escalate risk-related issues to management.
• Promote an inclusive environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and issues raised by external regulators.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Demonstrated experience with an IT discipline such as Data Networking, Application Development, Platform Operating Systems, Database, Data Analytics, or Information Security
• Understanding of hardware configurations and software concepts in current and future technologies
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and influencing skills
• Teamwork and collaborative focus
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and ceremonies

Education and Experience Preferred

• Intermediate to advanced programming skills in one or more relevant languages
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
• Experience from technology internships
