The Lockheed Martin Rotary and Systems Mission team in Mount Laurel, New Jersey is seeking a Systems Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. Interns will work in technical and engineering organizations (such as Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering) during breaks from college while enrolled in an accredited degree program.

You will design, integrate and test systems, and perform data analysis to assess the performance of Command, Control and Communications (C3) systems. These systems handle critical functions such as radar and sensor management, track filtering, track management including correlation and association, control of multiple communication links, threat evaluation and prioritization, and command of weapon systems for target engagement or assignment.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of system engineering principles, algorithm development, and data analysis for troubleshooting and evaluation. Candidates must be US citizens, and this position requires a government security clearance. It is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree in Engineering or a related STEM field
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Team-based experience
• Able to work independently and handle confidential information appropriately

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated analytical, applied mathematics and problem-solving skills
• Active security clearance
• Previous experience working in the defense industry
• Previous experience with JIRA and/or Confluence
