Claims Specialist in Indianapolis or Plano

Claims specialists manage, investigate and resolve assigned claims while helping policyholders. The role includes evaluating coverage, liability and damages, and settling claims within set authority levels.

Key responsibilities include:

• Spotting suspicious claims and referring them to SIU, and identifying chances for third party subrogation.
• Speaking with policyholders, witnesses and claimants to collect claim details, delegating tasks to other resources and advising on next steps.
• Answering written and phone inquiries, including status updates.
• Making sure reserves are adequate and protecting the security of financial processing and claim file information.
• Using loss management techniques, negotiating settlements with attorneys, claimants and co-defendants, and arranging expert inspections when third party or potential fraud issues arise.
• Updating files and preparing detailed reports as needed.

Strong written and oral communication, plus good interpersonal, analytical, investigative and negotiation skills, are required. Customer service experience is preferred.
