Strategic Sourcing Buyer Intern

Strategic Sourcing at Leidos handles purchasing and logistics for all tangible material and software buys across every Leidos business segment. The team is looking for motivated supply chain students to join as interns, where they will learn about Leidos' buying and logistics operations through introductions across the Strategic Sourcing organization, training, and real-world examples of supply chain work.

Throughout the summer, Buyer Interns learn procurement and supply chain by placing orders and working as part of the buying team. At the end of the program, interns evaluate their training and experience and recommend ways to improve sourcing and reduce supply chain costs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Learn the basics of purchasing in a Federal Government approved Purchasing System.
• Attend meetings with stakeholders and key stakeholders to identify supply chain sources and diversify the supplier portfolio.
• Work with the team to develop an implementation plan for presentation to Senior Management.
• Execute the implementation plan to the extent feasible during the summer timeline.
• Make follow-on recommendations for long-term sourcing success.

Preferred Qualification

• Data analysis or supply chain validation capabilities.
