Mainframe Test Verification Technician

About the Role

At IBM Infrastructure & Technology, teams design and operate the systems that keep the world running, from high-resiliency mainframes and hybrid cloud platforms to networking, automation, and site reliability. The work centers on the performance, security, and scalability that clients and industries rely on every day.

As a Technician: Generalist, you will carry out technical activities in an engineering, scientific, or technological environment. The role may involve working as a Lab Technician, Electronic Technician, or Quality Technician, among other capacities.

Key Responsibilities

• Debug and Inspection: Perform debugging and inspection tasks to find and fix issues with equipment, systems, or processes, including running tests and analyzing results to determine root causes.
• Repair and Design: Carry out repair and design activities, including occasional, uncomplicated deviations to existing designs or procedures. This requires experience in one main specialized activity and the ability to apply technical knowledge to resolve issues.
• Testing and Quality Control: Conduct tests and inspections to confirm the quality and reliability of equipment, systems, or processes, and identify and resolve quality-related issues.
• Maintenance and Operations: Perform routine maintenance and operations tasks to keep equipment, systems, or processes running smoothly, including monitoring performance, troubleshooting, and taking corrective action as needed.

Successful completion of the IBM Apprenticeship Program is required for this role.
