The Role

GM OneOps is positioned as the common operating platform for manufacturing, creating one connected, role-based view across plants with one platform, one standard, and one way of operating. The GM OneOps Deploy Engineer leads development, deployment, execution, and adoption of GM OneOps across the assigned GMNA sector. The role acts as sector leader for implementation planning, plant engagement, issue resolution, and deployment consistency, turning the GM OneOps strategy into plant-level execution.

The Team

The Manufacturing Operations Digitalization Team sits within Manufacturing Excellence and is responsible for digitalizing Manufacturing Operations globally. The team works with IT and Manufacturing Engineering to build digitalization strategies for manufacturing facilities, and with plant teams to define requirements and deploy GM OneOps modules at sites as they are developed.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in SOR development for GM OneOps modules that will be deployed within manufacturing sites.
  • Lead end-to-end deployment of GM OneOps across plants in the assigned sector, including rollout planning, readiness, execution, and adoption.
  • Drive standardization of plant processes, role-based workflows, and operating practices in line with the GM OneOps model.
  • Partner with plant leadership, operations, manufacturing engineering, and IT to coordinate implementation and resolve deployment barriers.
  • Build and manage sector deployment plans, including milestones, cutover readiness, issue tracking, risk management, and escalation paths.
  • Monitor adoption and operational performance after launch, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions to stabilize and mature the deployment.
  • Keep communication consistent across plants in the sector and maintain alignment with GMNA priorities, standards, and implementation sequencing.
  • Capture lessons learned and best practices to improve repeatability, deployment speed, and user experience for future plant rollouts.
  • Support leadership updates on deployment status, risks, dependencies, and sector readiness.

Work Arrangement

This position is onsite. The intern is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center five days a week and must be willing to travel to GM manufacturing facilities as needed.

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend to eligible students selected for the 2027 Student Program. To help with relocation benefit administration, apply using the permanent address you would move from.

Start dates for this internship are May 24 and June 14, 2027.
