Your Opportunity

This is a 2027 Wealth Management Intern role. Schwab values in-office collaboration, and the selected candidate is expected to work onsite in the chosen location.

About the Wealth Management Academy Internship

The Wealth Management Academy (WMA) Internship is a 9-week paid summer program for students who want a long-term career in financial planning and wealth management. It suits students who aim to become Wealth Advisors, build lasting client relationships, develop comprehensive financial plans, and pursue CFP® certification.

Unlike traditional sales-focused financial services roles, the WMA centers on helping clients reach their financial goals through holistic planning, advice, and long-term relationship management.

About Wealth & Advice Solutions

Schwab's Wealth & Advice Solutions organization helps clients make important financial decisions through personalized guidance, comprehensive planning, and tailored advice. Wealth Advisors work closely with clients to understand their needs, build financial strategies, and offer ongoing support.

As a WMA Intern, you will see how Schwab delivers wealth management services at scale while keeping a client-first approach, working alongside professionals who help clients build financial confidence.

What You'll Experience

You will take part in meaningful work covering financial planning, wealth management, and advisor support. Interns may contribute to business initiatives, research and analysis projects, process improvement efforts, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Complete an individual business project and a cohort-based internship project.
  • Take part in professional development workshops and networking opportunities.
  • Learn from Wealth Advisors and business leaders across Wealth & Advice Solutions.
  • Build your ability to analyze information, solve problems, communicate recommendations, and build relationships.
  • Understand the skills, experience, and licensing pathway needed to become a Wealth Advisor.
  • Learn about Schwab's commitment to financial planning and client-centered advice.

Your contributions matter and your development is supported. The experience will help you decide whether a career as a financial planner and Wealth Advisor is right for you.

Internship Dates

June 7, 2027 to August 6, 2027

Location Preferences

Your application should identify the location where you would like to complete the internship. Interns who finish the program may be considered for future Wealth Management Academy opportunities, which are usually tied to the internship location, so review your location preferences carefully before applying.
