Austin Internship: Client Service Intern

The Investor Services Client Service & Support (CS&S) Internship Program gives students the chance to build foundational client service, operational support and professional skills while contributing to work that supports Schwab clients. This sourcing requisition covers the broader CS&S internship program, and interns may be placed into one of several client service tracks based on business need, team alignment and location.

Investor Services CS&S teams play a critical role in delivering accurate, timely and professional service in a highly regulated environment. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting client service operations, such as responding to client inquiries, researching account information, documenting actions accurately, supporting issue resolution and following established processes and escalation procedures. You will work alongside experienced professionals and learn how structured execution, risk awareness, collaboration and operational excellence produce quality outcomes for clients.

Throughout the program, you will build your ability to communicate professionally, analyze information, solve problems using defined processes, manage work to completion and collaborate with teammates and business partners. You will also take part in professional development programming, networking, learning activities, feedback sessions and community volunteering designed to support long-term career growth. By the end of the internship, you will have exposure to client service within a leading financial services organization and transferable business skills for a range of future career paths.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
• Ability to communicate information clearly, professionally and accurately, both written and verbal.
• Ability to evaluate information, follow defined processes, determine next steps and resolve problems in a structured manner.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, organized work.
• Ability to manage assignments through completion, follow through on commitments and meet deadlines.
• Ability to learn new systems, policies, procedures and business concepts quickly while applying feedback.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and build productive working relationships.
• Availability to work on site in the designated internship location.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship, work experience, leadership, volunteer experience, projects or extracurricular activities demonstrating accountability and initiative.
• Interest in client service, business operations, financial services or related fields.
• Experience conducting research, analyzing information, or documenting findings and recommendations.
• Experience using technology and business tools to organize, manage and communicate information.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional development and community involvement.
