Your Impact

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will build your career and technical skills. You enjoy learning new technical areas and creating innovative solutions for customer problems, and you want to grow quickly and take on high impact work with your team.

You will develop high quality mission critical software in a collaborative environment using modern frameworks, tools, and AI-assisted development workflows. The engineering environment is AI-first, with intelligent tooling, code generation, and data-driven decision making built into daily development.

You will apply your passion, experience, and analytical skills to bring new solutions to public safety.

What You'll Do

Reports to: Software Engineering Manager

• Take part in code reviews and architecture design meetings, using AI-assisted insights and tooling
• Own and drive end-to-end features with Product and Design, using AI tools to speed up development and improve quality
• Hold your code to a high bar for quality and performance, including validating AI-generated code outputs
• Work in an AI-first environment where copilots, automation, and intelligent systems support developer productivity
• Work with like-minded people who care about the mission
• Work with the latest open source technologies and AI-enabled development platforms
• Receive mentorship from experienced engineers on traditional and AI-assisted software engineering practices

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, OR 2+ years of relevant experience, OR coding boot camp
• Professional software development internship
• Experience in at least one managed language such as Java, Scala, Go, C# or similar
• Familiarity with or interest in AI-assisted development tools, code generation, and automation workflows
• Follows the latest in software engineering, including emerging AI-driven development practices
• Enjoys delighting end users and solving novel challenges in a rapidly evolving technical landscape
