About the job

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on modernizing U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Bringing the expertise and business model of leading 21st century companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Its family of systems runs on Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center.

What You'll Do

  • Develop low-level firmware and software for microcontrollers, create reusable device drivers, integrate system-level features and architect changes to support a constantly growing codebase.
  • Quickly debug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware and software boundaries.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities. U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on the program.
  • Ability to complete a 12-week in-person internship in one of our offices in summer 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid C coding ability for embedded systems.
  • Some experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital designs.
  • Some experience developing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
  • Solid understanding and application of coding best practices, board bring-up and debugging.
  • Some familiarity with common bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, etc.
  • Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.).
  • Some experience debugging with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes or logic analyzers.
  • A bias for action. If you see a problem, you want to solve and fix it.
  • Naturally curious about the technologies and tools you use.
