About the team

Zillow's Human Resources teams help attract, hire, develop, engage, and support the people who move the business forward. This internship posting supports two opportunities: one within the Talent organization and one within the Employee Service and Operations organization.

The Talent organization includes Recruiting, Executive Talent, Talent Management & Learning, and Talent Experience & Enablement. These teams help connect people with career opportunities, support employee and leadership development, and improve candidate and employee experiences.

The Employee Service and Operations organization supports employees through employee service, HR processes, knowledge resources, and operational enablement. These teams make HR information and services easier to navigate and improve how people-related processes work.

Across both organizations, teams combine people-centered thinking, research, data, and operational excellence to solve problems and create better experiences.

About the role

Interns at Zillow do meaningful work that contributes to the business from day one. The nine-week summer internship program runs June through August and lets students bring their ideas and perspectives to real projects alongside Zillow teams.

Interns build hands-on experience, connect with mentors and leaders, and take part in learning and community experiences with their intern cohort. The 2027 internships are based in Seattle and follow a hybrid schedule, with interns generally working together in person Tuesday through Thursday. Eligible interns receive a stipend to help offset summer housing and relocation costs.

As a Human Resources Undergraduate Intern, you will contribute to projects that improve how Zillow attracts, develops, engages, or supports its people. You will work alongside experienced HR professionals, build practical skills, and see how people-focused work connects to business outcomes.

Two undergraduate interns are being hired through this posting: one joins the Talent organization and one joins Employee Service and Operations. Each intern is assigned to one host team for the internship; this is not a rotational program. Specific projects depend on the host team and business priorities.

Potential project areas include:

  • Talent: Recruiting and talent research, learning and development, onboarding, employee engagement, performance programs, executive talent initiatives, or talent experience and enablement.
  • Employee Service and Operations: Employee service experience, HR process improvement, employee-facing knowledge resources and communications, or HR operations and enablement.

In either placement, you will contribute to a defined project, collaborate with partners, and develop recommendations or resources that address a real business need.

You will get to

  • Contribute to a defined project or workstream, partnering with your manager to set goals, deliverables, and measures of success.
  • Research HR, talent, or employee experience topics, gather stakeholder input, and turn findings into practical recommendations.
  • Organize and analyze data or feedback to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and find opportunities for improvement.
  • Help create presentations, communications, learning resources, process guides, or other materials that make information clear and accessible.
  • Support the planning and delivery of HR programs, services, or initiatives, including coordination, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to improve candidate, employee, or manager experiences, depending on your host team.
  • Document workflows, improve knowledge resources, and recommend ways to make processes more effective, consistent, accessible, and scalable.
  • Share project outcomes and recommendations with stakeholders while building your communication and presentation skills.
  • Handle candidate, employee, and business information with care, following team guidance on confidentiality and appropriate data use.

This role is categorized as an Office position. Office employees regularly work at an existing ZG corporate office for approximately 80 to 100 percent of their time each month, and must live within reasonable commuting distance of their designated ZG office.

Who you are

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Interested in how organizations attract, develop, engage, and support their people, and eager to explore a career in human resources.
  • Coursework or project experience in human resources, business, psychology, organizational development, education, communications, data analytics, or a related area is helpful but not required.
  • A curious learner who asks thoughtful questions, seeks feedback, and brings new perspectives to the team.
  • A clear communicator who can organize ideas and adapt information for different audiences.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate when support is needed.
  • Comfortable working with data and tools used for spreadsheets, presentations, collaboration, and project tracking.
  • A collaborative problem-solver who listens to others and approaches work with empathy and an inclusive mindset.
  • Able to use sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive information.

Relevant experience gained through coursework, research, student organizations, volunteering, part-time work, or other projects is welcome. Prior recruiting or human resources experience is not required.
