Job Description

Visa's Internship Program offers a 12-week immersive experience where you will work on projects that advance Visa's mission. As a Visa intern, you will build connections, strengthen your communication and business skills, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, global environment.

The program includes interactive workshops and learning sessions to build expertise and expand industry knowledge. You will also have access to social events that foster community. The program ends with a final presentation where you share your project results and recommendations with Visa leaders.

As a Network and Security Engineering Intern, you will contribute to Visa's global network engineering organization by supporting the tools, platforms and automation that provide visibility into network health, performance and operational readiness. You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring systems, network automation, observability platforms and Generative AI technologies.

Some job duties and projects could include:

• Supporting enterprise network monitoring and observability initiatives across Visa's global infrastructure
• Configuring, testing and validating monitoring capabilities within platforms such as SevOne, IBM ITNM/Netcool and NetBrain
• Developing Python-based automation scripts and API workflows for monitoring validation, health checks, reporting and inventory analysis
• Collecting and analyzing network events, alerts, logs, telemetry, packet captures and performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Using REST APIs and structured data formats such as JSON, YAML and CSV to retrieve and analyze operational data
• Leveraging Generative AI tools to assist with scripting, troubleshooting, data analysis, documentation and operational insights
• Validating device discovery, interface monitoring, alert thresholds, dashboards, reports and topology views across observability platforms
• Identifying monitoring coverage gaps and supporting efforts to improve network visibility and operational effectiveness
• Creating and maintaining runbooks, validation procedures, monitoring standards, dashboards and technical documentation
• Supporting troubleshooting by gathering logs, packet captures, API responses, screenshots and other operational evidence

All Visa roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools to support everyday work.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office each week. Your Hiring Manager will confirm expectations for these days.

Work Hours and Travel

Work hours vary based on department needs. This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

This position will be performed in an office setting and requires sitting and standing at a desk, communicating in person and by telephone, and frequently operating standard office equipment.
