As a Software Engineer Intern at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of software professionals, implementing cutting-edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will help solve the world's most difficult challenges in domains such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. This is a matrix engineering and technology organization, so you will touch multiple programs over your career.

What You Will Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Develop software
• Integrate features and algorithms into C/C++ applications
• Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software containing logical and mathematical solutions for business or mission problems
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware, software, and information processing techniques to develop software
• Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation, and analyze system capabilities

Basic Qualifications

• Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related software discipline
• Demonstrated software development experience in C++
• Ability to obtain DoD Clearance
• Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills

• Experience with operating systems or familiarity with OS concepts (Linux, Windows, Unix, VxWorks, or Operating Systems coursework)
• Hardware experience (Arduino, STMxx, Xilinx, or any FPGA programmable software)
• Strong understanding of C++ Object Oriented design and inheritance concepts
• Understanding of basic multi-threading concepts
• Working with large code bases
• DevSecOps tool chain experience (Git, GitHub, BitBucket)
• Software configuration management
• Full software life-cycle development
• Software integration and debugging techniques
• Demonstrated software development experience in C or Python
• Familiarity with Agile practices
• Prior embedded internships are a bonus, but not required

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $24.37 - $28.15 per hour. At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. The salary range listed is a general guideline; Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate's work experience, education, key skills, and market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year. For Washington state applicants only: non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of paid time off and receive at least 90 hours for holidays; represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date.
