Seattle Hiring Engineer I, Mechanical Hardware Test

About the Role

Shield AI is hiring an Engineer I for mechanical hardware test within the X-BAT Division, on the X-BAT Engineering Avionics team. This is a full-time, onsite position in Seattle, Washington.

What you'll do

• Support the design, analysis, fabrication, and assembly of mechanical and structural systems.
• Create and revise CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Help design structural and electromechanical test stands and fixtures for aeronautical components.
• Take part in prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation.
• Carry out structural, thermal, and fatigue assessments with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Write test procedures, document results, and communicate findings.
• Join design reviews and suggest ideas that improve reliability, manufacturability, and testability.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams and suppliers during fabrication and assembly.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to hands-on technical problems in laboratory, shop, and field settings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
